Dorothy Sue Sirmons, 82, Altus, passed away Monday, August 10, 2015, at Plantation Village Nursing Home. Funeral services have been scheduled for 10:00 AM, Thursday, August 13, 2015 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Doug Altom and Erin Martinez officiating. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home.
Born to Jess and Grace (Gable) Kelly on May 5, 1933, in Bogota, Texas, Dorothy graduated from Fullbright High School, in Fullbright Texas, in 1951. Dorothy married W.A. Sirmons on July 5, 1961, in Vernon, Texas, and began a long career with the Department of Human Services in 1961, retiring in 1992. A faithful member of the Altus Church of God, Dorothy enjoyed traveling, gardening, music, church activities, and spending time with family.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Nina Park, and daughter-in-law Debbie Atchley. She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Messick and husband, Kenneth, of Altus, OK, and Bettye Castillo and husband Rick, of Altus, OK; three sons, Ronnie Atchely, of Oklahoma City, OK, Wayne Sirmons of Denver, CO, and step-son Bobby Sirmons of Altus, OK; three sisters, Mary Richardson and husband Leo of Elmer, OK, Mickey Travis and husband Sam of Mission, TX, and Doris Kerbo and husband Harold of Oklahoma City, OK; two brothers, Bud Kelly of Elmer, OK, and Arnold Kelly and wife Shigemi of Azle, TX; three grandchildren, Brandon Messick of Altus, OK, Chase Castillo of Altus, OK, and Melissa Beaver, of Yukon, OK; three great-grandchildren, Kayleb Beaver, Trystyn Beaver, and Addi Messick.
