Douglas “Doug” Rich, 77, of Altus, passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2021 in Altus, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, November 11, 2021 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Pastor John Johnson Officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Doug was born on August 9, 1944 in Wynnewood, Oklahoma to Nuell Oliver and Lily (Whitson) Rich. Growing up, Doug attended Tipton Public Schools and began working in the local cotton fields, feed lots, delivering for RC Cola and Chevally Moving Company, a maintenance man at Friendship Inn and later at ACE Hardware. Doug married Charlene Bundy in Frederick, Oklahoma on September 20, 1969. He worked at Martin’s Ace Hardware most of his adult life and made friends with most of Altus’ citizens, helping them with all their construction and home project needs. Doug was a member of the Assembly of God and instilled Christian principles in his children. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family, friends and his dog, Kiera. In his retirement years he was just a relaxed, laidback kind of guy.
