Duane Allen Zeman, 71, Altus, passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2016 at his home. Inurnment will take place at a later date in the Rosemound Cemetery, east of Medford, Oklahoma. Cremation services are under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home.
Duane was born on October 29, 1944 in Medford, Oklahoma to Victor E. and Alice L. (Bruey) Zeman. He graduated from Medford High School in Medford, Oklahoma with the class of 1962. Duane attended Northwestern Oklahoma College in Alva and graduated in 1966 with a Bachelor's Degree in English Education. He then served in the United States Army during Vietnam as an Army Medic. After his service, he taught at Helena and Garber Public Schools. Duane received his Master's Degree in English from the University of Oklahoma in 1978. He then joined the faculty of Western Oklahoma State College in Altus. He was an English Instructor for the college and retired in 2003. After his retirement, he tutored for the college up until his death. Duane enjoyed many things including photography, reading, traveling and music.
His parents and a brother, Dale Zeman, preceded him in death.
