Dwane Bowen, age 78, Altus, passed away on Monday, October 17, 2011 in Lawton, Oklahoma at Southwest Medical Center. Funeral services for Mr. Bowen will be 2 p.m. Friday, October 21, 2011, at the First Baptist Church in Altus with Dr. Jeff Moore officiating. Interment will follow services at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home. Dwane Bowen was born on September 7, 1933 to Lonnie and Floy (Clark) Bowen in Kingston, Arkansas. He attended Kingston schools and graduated from Kingston High School in 1951. On August 15, 1953 he and Mary Dark were married in Sentinel, Oklahoma. He had worked for Jack Barnes for about 32 years from 1955 to 1987. He then worked as Southwest Oklahoma Distribution Manager for Borden’s until his retirement in 2005. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Altus, enjoyed bowling, watching football and other TV sports; visiting with friends and spending time with his family. Dwane was preceded in death by his parents; son, Terry Bowen; brother, Dale Bowen; brother-in-law, Jerry Dark; daughter-in-law, Michelle Bowen; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Horace and Opal Dark. He is survived by his wife, Mary, of the home; a son, Clint Bowen of Altus, OK; four grandchildren, Brett Bowen, Amanda Elkins, Kristen Harris and Angela Rencher; two great grandchildren, Slade and Kaydence Rencher; three sisters, Marla McCoy and husband, Bryan, of Ft. Worth, TX, Betty Dahlen of Coos Bay, OR, and Bobbie Baumwart and husband, Don, of Stringtown, TX; five brothers, Eldon Bowen and wife, Marlene, of Coquille, OR, Gerald Bowen and wife, Lou, of Sentinel, OK, Ray Bowen and wife, Sharon, of Seiling, OK, Clark Bowen and wife, Melody, of Cordell, OK, and Jerry Bowen and wife, Cindy, of Clinton, OK; and numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. The Bowen Family will greet friends at Kincannon Funeral Home Thursday, October 20th from 6-7 P.M.
