Earl Raymond Friese, Jr., 91, passed away Wednesday morning at his home in Blair. Memorial services have been scheduled for 10:00 AM Saturday, June 29, 2013 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Ben Brock officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Blair Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home. Earl was born on January 30, 1922 to Earl Raymond and Wilfred Ardella Inez (Thomas) Friese in Toledo, Ohio. After graduating high school, he took courses in diesel training at the University of Illinois. Earl and Alice Luella Brown were united in marriage on March 24, 1941 in Napoleon, Ohio. To this marriage six children were born. Earl entered the United States Navy on May 20, 1944, completing his tour of duty on November 17, 1945 as a Motor Machinist Mate 2nd Class. While serving in the Marshall Islands, he was aboard the USS YMS-320 during World War II. Earl served as a Boy Scout Leader from 1953 – 1956. He was a member of the American Legion as well as the Calvary Church in Santa Ana, California. He enjoyed reading, working word puzzles and watching westerns. Earl was an avid member of the Warren Senior Citizens Center and enjoyed going on Tuesday nights and listening to music. His favorite pastime was spending time with his family. Earl is preceded in death by his parents, wife, a daughter, Sharon Luella Friese, two infant brothers and one sister, Kay Kunz. He is survived by two daughters, Kathy Rowland and husband, Neil, of Blair, OK, and Susie Hughes of Balmorhea, TX; three sons, Lee Friese and wife, Sue, of Athena, OR, Gary Friese and wife, Karen, of Roosevelt, OK, and Richard Friese and wife, Jacki, of John Day, OR; ten grandchildren, Don, David, Leslie, Dean, Monte, Diahna, Cindi, Jason, Tricia and Stacey; 22 great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the Warren Community Center.
