Earlene Capehart, 80, Granite, passed away on Friday, December 30, 2016 at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 3, 2016 at Kincannon Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Altom officiating. Cremation services, provided by Kincannon Funeral Home, will follow the funeral service.
Ruby Earlene Rocka was born on September 28, 1936 in Camden, Texas to Cullen and Bell Roy (Coe) Rocka. She attended school in Camden, Texas and graduated high school in Channelview, Texas. Earlene continued her education in nursing at East Texas Baptist University. She was married to James Garner and then married Billy Gene Capehart. She worked for 18 years as office manager at Jim Click Chevrolet. Earlene then worked as a nurse's aide at English Village Manor for 12 years. She also worked at the Blair Post Office and finally as a caretaker until her retirement. Earlene was a member of the Blair First Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening and traveling. She was a great collector of strawberry memorabilia and loved spending time with her family.
Earlene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a special friend, Carol Gene Cox.
She is survived by three sons, Travis Josey and wife, Angela, Dewayne Garner and wife, Carla, and Timothy Garner and wife, Christy; one daughter, Liza Capehart and fiancé, Brad Dean; 12 grandchildren, Jared and Kayla Josey, Cassandra Hatfield, Jordan Martin, Cody Garner, Justin Langnam, Jeremy Garner, Cody Garner, Jacob Garner, Jesse Garner, Amber Saville and husband, Greg, and Emily Capehart; nine great grandchildren; one brother, Jack Josey and wife, Kim; two sisters, Carol Reed and Gracie Rocka; and many friends including her two best friends, Sue Wallace and Pam McDonald.
