Eleanor Fay Jones, a beloved resident of Hollis, Oklahoma passed away peacefully on February 27, 2025. She was born on Christmas Day in 1938 to Clyde Lawrence and Mary Frances (Beard) Huddle in Hollister, California. Eleanor graduated from Hollister High School in 1956. She married Danny Earl Jones in 1958 in Carson City, Nevada, and they enjoyed 59 adventurous years together. Danny preceded her in death in 2018.
Dan and Eleanor made their home in Carson City, where they raised their only daughter, Jeanette. They lived happily in Carson City until 1994 when they moved to Hollis to be closer to their grandkids Seth and Katy. They ran D&E Enterprises in Hollis for 15 years where they made many friends in the Hollis community. Eleanor was an avid collector of all things, especially dolls. She loved rummaging at garage sales and antique stores, spending time with family, and playing the piano. She also enjoyed meticulously mowing designs in her front yard and tending to her peonies. Eleanor was a member of the Dodson Church of Christ and greatly enjoyed spending time with her church family. The past few years, Eleanor enjoyed going to the Hollis Meal Site to visit with her friends and to play Bingo.
She made many wonderful memories that live on with her daughter, Jeanette and husband, Darin; two grandchildren, Seth Brookman and wife, Kary and Katy Butchee and husband, Dillon; and four great grandchildren, Hadyn and Cash Brookman and Boe and Josy Butchee; along with her cherished sister, Alberta Renfrow; a precious niece, Lisa Sears and husband, Mark; a special cousin, Charles Keyes and wife, Judy; her cousins, the Nevitt girls; and other extended family in California.
During the last eight months Eleanor was blessed with many wonderful nurses and caregivers. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to the staff of Harmon Memorial Hospital, Colonial Manor, and JCMH Hospice.
