Elizabeth Lopez Abila, 62, of Altus, OK passed away Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Larry Ortega officiating. Elizabeth Lopez was born July 23, 1950 to Francisco and Manuela Lopez in Sinton, Texas. In 1973, she married Paul M. Abila in Vernon, Texas and to this union six children were born. Elizabeth was a member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Altus, OK. She also belonged to the American GI Forum and VFW Women’s Auxiliary. She was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed spending time playing bingo, doing crossword puzzles, reading the Guidepost and traveling. Mrs. Abila was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul M Abila; five siblings, “SL” Flores, Joe L. Garcia, Sammy Lopez, Eddie Lopez, and Adam Lopez. She is survived by her husband, Fred Willis of the home; two daughters, Rachel Goswick of Altus, OK, and Paulette Abila Hernandez and husband, Julian, of Altus, OK; four sons, Adolph M. Abila and wife, Cecilia, of Altus, OK, Paul Abila, Jr. and wife, Scarlett, of Dumfries, VA, Armando Abila and wife, Linda, of Altus, OK, Reuben F.L. Abila of Altus, OK; one sister, San Juanita Grey of Ft. Worth, TX; two brothers, Max Lopez of Saginaw, MI, and Guadelupe Lopez of Carol, MI; 22 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends. The family will host a visitation for friends and family from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, May 6, 2013 at the Kincannon Funeral Home. Additional parking for the service is available behind the funeral home, Best Western to the south and Western Sizzlin’ to the north.
