Ella Mae Thompson

Ella Mae Thompson of Holland, PA and formerly of Altus, OK died peacefully on Saturday, November 30, 2024. She was 92. 

Ella Mae was the beloved wife of the late Raymond Chaplin and the late Clyde L. Thompson.

Born in Stephens County, OK, she was the daughter of the late Ernest David and Tennie Faye Howell Parker.

Ella Mae graduated from Hines Junior College in Raymond, Mississippi with her Associates Degree in Nursing. She worked at King's Daughter Hospital in Brookhaven, MS, and Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus. She enjoyed reading Christian fiction, playing cards and bingo. For the last 10 years she lived in Pennsylvania with her daughter and family. Ella Mae was able to enjoy traveling the Northeast and the Jersey Shore with many trips to the Pennsylvania Dutch country with her daughter.

Ella Mae is survived by her loving and devoted children Patricia Ann Purcell her husband Jerry Purcell of Holland, PA, Michael Ray Chaplin and his wife Sherry of Concord, CA, and James Edward Chaplin and his wife Tera of Erick, OK. She is also survived by her six grandchildren: Nathan, Thomas, Kevin, Gabriel, Jason, and Christopher and her two great-grandchildren Iris and Asher, Ella Mae was also expecting the births of two more great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing from 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM on Friday, December 6th, at Kincannon Funeral Home. Memorial services will begin at 11:30 AM with Pastor Jason Duree officiating. Burial will immediately follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
