Esther Jane “EJ” Lewis, 79, Martha, died Monday, October 17, 2011 in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday, October 21, 2011 at the Martha Cemetery with Don Hervey and Wes Barnes officiating. Services are under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home. Esther Jane Hill was born October 18, 1931 in Green River, Utah to Daniel and Dorothy (Eller) Hill. She graduated from Tooele High School, Tooele, Utah in 1949. She married Fred Lewis in November 10, 1949 in Tooele, Utah. She was a seamstress most of her life; drove the Martha school bus from the late 1970s to the early 1980s; worked at the Jackson County Election Board for about 25 years from 1985 until 2010 and was the Martha Town Manager from 1997 to 2010. Many of the Martha school age children called her “Aunt Jane.” She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Altus. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, oil painting and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband and a son, Michael. She is survived by one daughter, Ricky Umberger and husband Craig of Martha, OK; one son, David Lewis of Temple, TX; eight grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; one sister, Donna Smith of Altus, OK; two brothers, Leslie Hill and wife Mary of Martha, OK; Daniel Hill and wife Joan of Tooele, Utah; several nieces, nephews and many friends. The Lewis Family will greet friends Thursday evening from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Kincannon Funeral Home.
