Eunice Alta Talley, 95, Altus, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2011 in Oklahoma City. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 20, 2011 in the Centennial Memorial Chapel at Altus City Cemetery with Bill Osborne officiating. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home. Eunice Alta Truitt was born on September 10, 1915 in Madill, Oklahoma to Gilbert Cleveland and Bertha May (Kelley) Truitt. She graduated from high school in Comanche, Oklahoma and attended Oklahoma State University. She married Elton Carlyn Talley in Madill on September 5, 1937. The two were married for 73 years and 8 months. She was a longtime member of the Tamarack Road Church of Christ, where she taught youth Sunday school for over 25 years. She served as a homeroom mother at school and as a Girl Scout leader. She was a founder of the Altus Garden Club and was a member for over 50 years. Eunice loved antiques and was currently operating the Prairie Schooner. Her infant son, Timothy Talley, and a daughter, Marilyn Jean Talley, preceded her in death. Survivors include her husband of the home; two daughters, Teresa E. Talley and her friend, Jay Hirsch, of Tompkins Cove, New York, and Cynthia “Cynde” Holloway and her husband, Kenny, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; a son, Patrick A. Talley of Olustee, Oklahoma; a grandson, Jeffrey Holloway of Edmond, Oklahoma; a sister, Helen Keener of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; a niece, Jan Keener of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and a sister-in-law, Olivia Robinson of Altus, Oklahoma.
