Evelyn L. Zawicki

Evelyn L. Zawicki, 67, Altus, died Tuesday morning, January 27, 2015 in her home with her family by her side. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, January 30, 2015 at Kincannon Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Franks officiating. Burial will follow services at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home. Evelyn Laverne Auld was born April 13, 1947 in Borger, Texas to Arthur William and Lillie Mae (Henry) Auld. She graduated from Plainview High School, Plainview, Texas and continued her education at the Amarillo College School of Nursing. Evelyn was an LPN for over thirty years, having worked at Jackson County Memorial Hospital for 27 years, retiring in 2007. She was active in the VFW Ladies Auxillary and served as President during 2004 - 2005. Evelyn enjoyed crafts, crocheting and spending time with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Lillie Mae Auld; and sister-in-law, Louise Kralec. She is survived by her husband, Michael Zawicki, of Altus, OK; her son, Michael Zawicki, Jr. and wife, Sherry, of Duncan, OK; her daughter, Donna Zawicki of Altus, OK; her sister, Sherry York, of Amarillo, TX; two grandchildren, Brittany and Dylan Zawicki, both of Duncan, Oklahoma; brothers-in-law Al Zawicki and wife Lisa Stone; Paul Zawicki and wife Connie and Jimmy Kralec; and sister-in-law, Marian White, and husband Bob. The Zawicki family will greet friends Thursday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Kincannon Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, americancancersociety.com, in Evelyn Zawicki's honor. Additional parking for the service is available behind the funeral home, Best Western to the South or Western Sizzlin’ to the North.
