Frances Nell (Stone) Davis

Frances Nell (Stone) Davis, 86, of Oklahoma City went home to be with the Lord on January 19, 2018, at Baptist Village after a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, January 27, 2018 in the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Don Stone officiating. Burial will follow in the Restlawn Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Frances was born October 28, 1931, in Olustee, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Milford J. and Ruth Louise Stone. After living in Olustee through the 1st Grade, she moved with her family to Altus. In 1947 she married James M. Atchison. She graduated from Olustee High School in 1949. To this marriage three children were born: Kevin, Marla and Jay. After divorce, Frances moved to Altus and worked in sales in local dress shops. She then moved to Sapulpa and was assistant manager at Cherry Hill Apartments. In 1983 she returned to Altus to manage Briarwood Apartments. She married James Davis in 1986 at Hess Baptist Church. They then moved to Sitnnet, TX where they rededicated their lives to the Lord and were baptized together at the Baptist church.
In 1987 they returned to Olustee and began cattle ranching. Frances worked at Country Cove housing for 9 years. She enjoyed serving the Lord playing the organ and keyboard at church. She loved music of all kinds. During the last 5 years, Frances had been living with her daughter in Oklahoma City.
Frances loved to cook and was a great homemaker. Most of all she loved her children and grandchildren.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Milford Stone, her husband, James Davis and a grandson, RJ McCray.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law Kevin and Christie Atchison of Melbourne, FL; a daughter Marla of Oklahoma City; a son Jay of Altus, step-daughter Janet Davis of Vega, TX, and step-son Kenny Davis of Oklahoma City. She is survived by four grandchildren; Jimmy Atchison of Orlando, FL; Mike Atchison of Tallahassee, FL; and Sarah Lee of Melbourne, FL, and Celeste Braker of Lubbock. TX. Also surviving are her brother Gene Stone of Blair and eleven great-grandchildren, a nephew, Brent Stone, a niece, Kelly Stone, and a host of relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.
