Garland F. Seitz, 90, Eldorado, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2020 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at the Eldorado Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Garland Floyd Seitz was born December 30, 1929 in Mobeetie, Texas to Lee and Elizabeth (Hopkins) Seitz. He graduated from Eldorado High School with the Class of 1948. Garland enlisted in the United States Navy in August of 1948 and was honorably discharged in August of 1952. He worked at the Eldorado Coop for several years. Garland helped plow and sew wheat for Gary Tigert for many years and he also mowed Marjorie Tibert's lawn as needed. He and Evelyn Hobbs were married March 18, 1969 in Eldorado, Oklahoma. Garland was an avid Oklahoma University football fan and enjoyed playing dominoes with his friends. Garland was known for his simplicity and his easy going nature. He loved spending time with his friends and family members.
Garland was preceded in death by his stepdaughter, Patsy Martin; his son-in-law, Donnie Martin and three brothers. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; two granddaughters, Kim McDowell and Stefanie Campbell; two great granddaughters, Hayley McDowell and Cayley Campbell; a brother, Glenn Seitz and wife, Martha and many friends.
