Gayland Lee Kellison

Gayland Lee Kellison, age 75, passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2021. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.

Gayland Lee Kellison was born on September 30, 1946 in Hollis, Oklahoma to Leonard Lee and Naomi Ruth (Jones) Kellison. Gayland attended and graduated from Ron Schools. Gayland served in the Army National Guard for seven years. He was Honorably Discharged in July 1972. Gayland retired as a Captain from the Altus Fire Department after 25 years of service to the City of Altus. Gayland was also a skilled carpenter building and refinishing cabinets and other wood working projects. Gayland married Peggy Ann (McDonald) Kellison in June 1983, upon retirement-they moved to Bridge Creek, Oklahoma. In June 2013, they moved to Purcell, Oklahoma. Gayland enjoyed hunting, fishing, carpentry work and OU Sooners. He could be considered their greatest armchair fan!
Gayland was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Kellison; stepdaughter, Michelle D. Hammons; parents, Naomi Ruth Kellison and Leonard Lee Kellison; and his sister, Jo Ellen George.

Gayland is survived by his children, daughter, Shannon R. Kellison and fiancé, Michael Holle of Altus, OK; stepdaughter, Lisa R. Farrell and husband, Bobby Joe Farrell of Purcell, OK; stepson, Matt Coppock and wife, Lisa Lucas Coppock of Altus, OK; and Crystal Farmer of Altus, OK; grandchildren, Brad Popchoke and wife, Suzie Popchoke of Oklahoma City, OK, Whitney Popchoke and fiancé, David Kapple of Yukon, OK, Evan Coppock and wife, Jordan Coppock of Altus, OK, Christina Saldana of Lawton, OK, and Whitney Farmer of Altus, OK; great grandchildren, Rebecca Popchoke, Mia Popchoke, Gracie Popchoke, Connor Popchoke, Olivia Popchoke, Noelle Popchoke, Aaliyah Johnson, Delaney Kapple, Audrey Coppock, Adley Coppock, Asher Coppock, Michael Saldana and Mason Saldana.
