Gene Warner, 67, passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at the VA Center in Sulphur, Oklahoma. Graveside services with military honors are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at the Ft. Sill National Cemetery with Rich Ainsley officiating. Services have been entrusted to Kincannon Funeral Home.
Ollie Gene Warner was born August 13, 1948 to Eugene A. and Rose Lee (Hocutt) Warner in Roswell, New Mexico. He attended Cache schools. Gene and Sandi Long were united in marriage in Wichita Falls, Texas in 1972. Gene served his country in the United States Navy, entering in October of 1965 and served two deployments to Vietnam. He was awarded the meritorious unit commendation ribbon; the national defense service medal; the Vietnam campaign medal and the Vietnam service medal with one Bronze Star. Seaman Warner was honorably discharged from the United States Navy in February of 1969. He was the owner of O.G. Construction and Landmark Construction. Gene had lived in Japan during one of his military assignments. Following his military career he had lived in Alaska for one year. He studied Native American History, loved to fish, hunt, being at the lake and skiing. Gene always enjoyed being outdoors and out in nature. He was of the Christian faith and appreciated his family and friends.
Gene is preceded in death by his parents; son, Kenny Kephart; brother, Tommy Warner; and sister, Vicky Warner. He leaves behind one daughter, Ricci Haselton; a grandson, Richard Bradley Warner; and one sister, Rita Long and husband Corky.
