George Lee Johnston, 79, Eldorado, passed away at his home on Sunday, January 9, 2022 with his family by his side. A private family memorial will take place at a later date. Cremation has been provided by Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
George Lee Johnston was born on April 12, 1942 in Platter, Oklahoma to Rufus and Effie (Taylor) Johnston. He attended school in Platter, Oklahoma and married Caroline Faye Gazaway on January 2, 1963 in Ardmore, Oklahoma. George worked at the Eldorado and Quanah cotton gins and had also spent many years in the oilfield as a derrek hand and maintenance man. He was a member of the Eldorado Church of Christ. George helped his brother, Bob, mow lawns in Eldorado and also enjoyed gardening and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Bob Johnston, Mary Skinner, Pat Edwards, and Janis Bunch. He is survived by his wife, Carol; four sons, Garrell, Glen, Gene, and Gary Johnston; grandchildren, Glen A. Johnston, CJ Johnston, Sonya Johnston, Donnald Johnston, and Robert Johnston; one great granddaughter, Mialora Johnston; and many friends.
