Gerald “Chris” Lee Christopher, 80, of Altus, Oklahoma passed away Friday, February 7, 2014 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 10, 2014 at Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Keith Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow with full military honors at Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home. Gerald Lee Christopher was born May 14, 1933 to Elmer L. and Arva (Lorenzen) Christopher in Atlanta, Georgia. He moved to El Reno, Oklahoma in 1942 and graduated from El Reno High School and attended college. Chris married Euleta Maxine Walker September 29, 1951 in El Reno, Oklahoma. He joined the United States Air Force and became a Crew Chief and a Flight Engineer retiring after twenty-eight years in 1979. He then began working Civil Service from 1980 to January 2005. During his Civil Service years, Chris worked as an aircraft flight/ground instructor and a quality assurance representative. Chris was a member of the Masons and the American Quarter Horse Association. He spent time farming, ranching, woodworking, and working on all types of engines. He especially loved tractor restoration and his horses. He loved the outdoors, but most of all loved his family and being with friends. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Christopher was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Euleta, on November 24, 2013. He is survived by one daughter, Debbie Greene of Atlanta, GA; one son, Jerry Christopher of Altus, OK; six grandchildren, Christopher Greene of Atlanta, GA; Amy Hamilton and husband, Keith, of Atlanta, GA, Keith Christopher and wife, Lindsey, of Charleston, S.C., Jimmy Greene and wife, Megan, of Sylvania, GA, Lauren Coffman and husband, Drew, of Atlanta, GA, Whitney Leach and husband, Joseph, of Atlanta, GA; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends. The family will host a visitation for family and friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, February 9, 2014 at Kincannon Funeral Home. Additional parking for the service is available behind the funeral home, Best Western to the South or Western Sizzlin’ to the North.
