Glen E. Baker, 70, Altus, peacefully passed away, Sunday, January 16, 2011 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services have been scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Bill Osborne officiating. Burial will follow at Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home. Glen Everett Baker was born on July 15, 1940 to Alva and Sara (Shanks) Baker at Coolville, Ohio. He graduated from Coolville High School, Coolville, Ohio in 1958. Glen joined the United States Air Force in 1961 and was stationed at Altus Air Force Base. He was honorably discharged in 1965. He met Sue Johnson while stationed in Altus and they were married September 19, 1964 in Altus. Glen was one the first civil service workers at Altus Air Force Base, working there from 1966 to 1970. He was a truck driver, working for several area trucking companies over his 40 year career. He received an award for driving three million miles with no accidents. He was of the Christian faith. He enjoyed fishing, grandkids and spending time with his family. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Raymond and Harold Baker; three sisters, Mary Brooks, Carolyn Hapney and Thelma Sanders. He is survived by his wife Sue; a daughter, Cheryl Moody and husband Raymond of Olustee, OK; a son, Steve Baker and wife Zelda of Altus, OK; three grandchildren, Justin Moody, Sara and Shelby Baker; a sister-in-law, Gayle Deere of Altus, OK; a niece, Lisa Myers and husband Jeff of Morris, OK and their children, a son Dylan Myers and his wife Tife; a daughter, McKenzi Myers and a host of other nieces, nephews and friends. The Baker Family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5:30 to 7:30 at Kincannon Funeral Home.
