Glenda Bower, 82, formerly of Altus, Oklahoma passed from this life on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, in Ft. Worth, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at the Altus City Cemetery with Pastor Lionel Mounce and Pastor Michael Watts officiating. Services are under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Glenda was born on July 25, 1939 in Elmore City, Oklahoma to Carl and Addie Bell (Howard) Blackburn. She attended Altus Public Schools and graduated with the Class of 1957. Glenda worked in the banking industry for over 30 years, beginning at a bank in Dallas, Texas later retiring from the First National Bank in Altus. She was a member of the True Life Apostolic in Altus and later at The Pentecostals of Fort Worth. Her hobbies included reading and collecting books, collecting sayings in magazines, and spending time with family and friends.
Glenda was preceded in death by her father, Rev. Carl Blackburn; mother, Addie Blackburn; son, Rev. Michael Bower; granddaughter, Rachel Bower; one brother, Earl Blackburn; and two sisters, Geraldine Romines and Cleda Romines.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Anne Bower; grandson, Jonathan Bower; nieces, Donna Gagnon and husband, Glen, Paula Kubik, and Linda Wynns; nephews, Terry Blackburn, Ricky Blackburn, Gary Romines, David Romines; several great nieces and nephews and their families; and many friends.
