Funeral services for Gordon Yale Linders, 92, Duke, will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at the Duke Church of Christ. Burial will follow in the Prairie Hill Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home. You have to have winter before you can have spring. This was one of the many sayings Gordon Yale Linders expressed often to his 4 children and their families who have shared their homes with him for the past two and a half years. On April 11, 2014, Gordon began his Spring celebration with Our Heavenly Father. Gordon was born on Nov. 26, 1921 in Renville, Minnesota to John Marshall and Emma Pratt Linders, the 8th of 12 children. He married Lorene Hall on Nov. 27, 1944. Five children were blessed to call him Dad and were all raised in Duke. He was preceded in death by his 11 brothers and sisters, wife of 62 years, Lorene, and his youngest son, Joseph Lynn. He is survived by Vaughn and Janie Linders of Garland, TX, Vinita and Lawrence Lanning of Purcell, OK, Rodney and Kathie Linders of Moore, OK, and Debbie and Don Tyson of Ft. Cobb ,OK. Better known as grandpa to his 17 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren (with number 39 to arrive this fall) and one great great granddaughter, his love of family and God is shown to all. No words can express the family’s blessings for their time with their grandpa and dad. He was employed by Republic Gypsum which opened in Duke in 1964 and worked there until his retirement in 1984. The family wishes to thank Dr. Katherine Hayes, cardiologist at Norman Health Plex, who gave him loving care for the past seven years. He was a faithful member of the Duke Church of Christ for many years. The family wishes to thank the nurses and aides of Crossroads Hospice and especially his nurse, Lorine. Family will greet visitors Monday evening between 6 & 8 p.m. at the Kincannon Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Duke Church of Christ or to the Crossroads Hospice, 701 SE 82nd St, Oklahoma City, OK 73149. http://www.tributeslides.com/videos/embedded_video/XWY9W36G39KBRS8F
