Gussie Jane Defoor

Gussie Jane Defoor, 51, Elmer, passed away Friday, February 21, 2020 at her home with her family by her side. The family will host a reception 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening, February 25, 2020 at the funeral home. Cremation has been provided by Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation service. The family will host a private memorial service at a later date.
She was born Gussie Jane Thurmond April 8, 1968 to Keith and Lometta (Bonds) Thurmond in Altus, Oklahoma. She graduated with the Southside High School Class of 1986 and continued her education at WOSC in Altus. Gussie married Marshall Defoor, Jr. June 4, 1988 in Altus, Oklahoma. She worked for several years at the Altus WalMart and was a department manager. Gussie was of the Jehovah's Witness faith; enjoyed cross stitch; video games and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Gussie was preceded in death by her nephew, Brian Bradley Thurmond. She is survived by her parents, Keith and Jane Thurmond; her husband, Marshall Defoor; daughters, Amanda Renee Defoor and Christina German; sons, Greg Defoor and wife, Amanda; and Phillip Defoor; sister, Kristie Thurmond; brother, Brian Thurmond; and seven grandchildren, Sarah, Amy, Paylin, Summer, Connor, Violett and Willow.
