Guy Gaylon Reed

Guy Reed, 62, of Vernon, Texas went to his Heavenly home on Sunday, May 5, 2019 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Memorial services have been scheduled for 2:00 PM, Friday, May 10th, 2019 at the Eastside Baptist Church located at 1219 Pease St. in Vernon, Texas. The Reed family will greet friends from noon to 2:00 PM at the church before services.

Guy Gaylon Reed was born April 29, 1957 to Junior and Beverly (Bodling) Reed in Vernon, Texas. He graduated from Azle, Texas High School. Guy worked as a hay hauler and in the agriculture industry. Guy and Shirley Schmaker were united in marriage on November 24, 2006 in Vernon, Texas. Guy was a good person, strong in his thoughts, and walked in his own way. He was firm in his beliefs and he certainly believed in Jesus. Guy is in Heaven where there is no sorrow or pain. He was a good husband, good father and good friend. He was "Good as gold."

Guy is survived by his wife, Shirley, of the home; three children, James Reed, Haley Reed and Joe Brennan Pate. He also leaves behind nine grandchildren and a host of friends.
