Harrel "Buzz" Ballou,

Harrel Gail "Buzz" Ballou, Jr., 65, Mountain View, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2015 in Knox City, TX. Memorial services will be 10:00 AM Friday, March 27, 2015 at the Carnegie Memorial Building Auditorium in Carnegie, OK. Cremation services are under the care of the Kincannon Funeral Home. Gail was born on November 7, 1949 in Altus, Oklahoma to Harrel Gail and Tressie Marlene (Morton) Ballou, Sr. He grew up in Duke and graduated from Duke High School with the class of 1968. He married Judy Smith on January 7, 1971 in Carnegie, Oklahoma. Gail worked for Midwest Inc., manufacturing and selling furniture, for more than 34 years. Since 1988, he worked for many law enforcement agencies as a Deputy Sheriff and also as Chief of Police. He served as a volunteer firefighter in Carnegie before he retired. Gail loved to hunt and fish. He also liked to camp, south of Duke, on Boggy Creek. He was a loving father and brother and was a dedicated husband. Gail was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents, Bill and Eva Morton and Albert and Opal Ballou. He is survived by his wife, Judy, of the home; three sons, Darrel Ballou and wife, Keli, of Fort Cobb, OK, Danny Ballou of Hobart, OK and David Ballou of Mountain View, OK; three grandchildren, Elias Starr, Harryson Starr and Rebecca Kaulaity; two sisters, Sherry Ballou of Altus, OK and Sharron Schmitt and husband, Mike, of Hazel, TX; two brothers, Jonnathan Ballou and wife, Jackie, of Gould, OK and Jason Ballou of Lubbock, TX; and numerous other family and a host of friends.
