Harvey Hugh McQuiggan, 82, Altus, died Monday, March 19, 2012 in Altus, Oklahoma. Funeral services with Masonic Rites will be 10 a.m. Friday, March 23, 2012 at Kincannon Funeral Home with Bobby Laws officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow services at the Eldorado Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home. Harvey H. McQuiggan was born September 10, 1929 in Tillsonburg, Ontario, Canada to Merlin H. and Mary (Rauls) McQuiggan. He attended school in Courtland, Ontario. He joined the Royal Canadian Armed Forces in 1944 at the age of fifteen. In 1947 he enlisted in the U.S. Army / Air Force and married Loretta Totten December 4, 1948 in East St. Louis, Illinois. He served the United States Air Force for 22 years as an Aircraft Mechanic, retiring in 1969, attaining the rank of MSgt. While in the military, he continued his education at Western Oklahoma State College in Altus, Oklahoma and Southern Illinois University at Altus Air Force Base, Altus, Oklahoma. He started working for Republic Gypsum in Duke, Oklahoma in 1969. He worked as a dispatcher and later set up the computerized dispatch system before retiring in 1989. He was of the Christian Faith. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, flying and all aspects of the Masonic Fraternity. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Dorothy and three brothers, Murray, Ross and an infant brother. He is survived by his wife, Loretta, of the home in Altus, OK; four daughters, Linda Silver and husband, Rick, of Tampa, FL, Roxie Damron of Altus, OK, Jackie Ward and husband, Ken, of Lavale, MD, and Laura Weldon of Altus, OK; one son, Dan McQuiggan and wife, Karen, of Mustang, OK; an uncle, Donald McQuiggan and family of Tillsonburg, Ontario, Canada; fifteen grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren, many Masonic Fraternity brothers and many other friends. The McQuiggan Family will greet friends Thursday evening from 6 pm to 8 pm at Kincannon Funeral Home.
