Helen McInnis, 87, Altus, passed away on Monday, April 19, 2011 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Friday, April 22, 2011 at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Jeff Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home. Helen Adkins was born on April 9, 1924 in Wellington, Texas to A.J. “Albert” and Emma (Breedlove) Adkins. She was raised in Vinson, Oklahoma and graduated from Vinson High School in 1943. Helen married Durant McInnis in Wellington, Texas on October 12, 1946. During World War II, she worked in an airplane factory in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Chaparral Good Sam Club. She loved camping and playing dominoes with fellow campers. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother-in-law, Bill Holder. Survivors include her husband of the home; a daughter, Sandra James and her husband, Ernie, of Altus, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Patricia Elaine Stotler and her husband, Dr. Wesley Stotler, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Bradley Wayne Osburg and his wife, Michelle, of Longview, Texas; five great grandchildren, Zackary and Lauren Stotler, both of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Tristan Berlin, Avery Osburg, and Emma Osburg, all of Longview, Texas; a twin sister, Ellen Holder of Hollis, Oklahoma; a niece, Nancy Heflin and her husband, Rodney, of Hollis, Oklahoma; a nephew, Danny Holder and his wife, Robbie, of Gould, Oklahoma; and several great nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Thursday at the Kincannon Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the TV Ministry at First Baptist Church, 300 N.
