Helen Jean Richeson, 85, Harrah, Oklahoma, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2020 at home with her family by her side. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at the Eldorado Cemetery with Dr. Dan Campbell officiating. Services are under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Helen Jean Sparkman was born October 28, 1934 in Quanah, Texas to Raymond and Elverta (Green) Sparkman. She graduated Quanah High School with the Class of 1953. Helen married John E. Richeson November 7, 1954 in Quanah, Texas. In 1972, once her children were raised, Helen began working in a beauty shop. Ten years later, her husband John built Helen a shop on their property in Harrah which she owned and operated until her retirement in 2004. Helen was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Harrah and enjoyed painting; sewing and quilting; cooking; traveling and collecting antiques.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Elverta Sparkman; and a brother, Eddie Sparkman. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, John Richeson; two sons, Johnnie Richeson; and Jimmie Richeson and wife, Joni; granddaughter, Jennie McDonald and husband, Max; great granddaughter, Kaylee McDonald; numerous nephews, nieces, close friends and caregiver, Betty Minson.
