Herman Wilson Coppock, 86, Altus, passed away Saturday evening, November 5, 2022, at his home with his family by his side. A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, November 10, 2022, at Kincannon Funeral Home with Rev. Bruce Davis and Rev. George Lupton officiating.
Herman was born October 29, 1936 in Wortham, Texas to Roy and Mable (Willett) Coppock. He graduated high school in Abernathy, Texas with the Class of 1954. He enlisted in the United States Army in January of 1960, was a Specialist 1st Class in active duty for 2 years and 2 months, served the remainder of his time in the U.S. Army Reserves, and was honorably discharged in January of 1966. He worked for Gifford-Hill Irrigation Service for 20 years, then for Locke Supply for 10 years, before beginning his business as a self-employed contractor. Herman married Daina Biddy on January 2, 1987 in Altus, Oklahoma. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, and later, Grace United Methodist Church. He enjoyed traveling, snow skiing, boating, photography, westerns, music, carpentry, and spending time with his family. He was active in several church youth programs.
Herman was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Mable Coppock; and a daughter, Michelle Denise Hammons, and the mother of his children, Peggy Kellison. He is survived by his wife, Daina; daughter, Lisa Farrell and husband, Bobby Joe; son, Matt Coppock and wife, Lisa; three grandchildren, Bradley Popchoke and wife, Suzanne; Whitney Popchoke-Kapple and husband, David; and Evan Coppock and wife, Jordan; ten great grandchildren, Rebecca Youngblood and husband, Brayden, Mia, Gracie, Connor, Olivia and Noelle Popchoke, Delaney Kapple, Adley Kaye, Audrey Rose, and Asher Evan Coppock; sister, Mary Carter and husband, Earl; brother and sister-in-law, Rodney and Debra Biddy; six beloved nieces and nephews; and many friends.
