Hortensia Pena Rosalez, 81, Blair, passed away at her home on Tuesday, April 3, 2018. Funeral services have been scheduled for 10:00 AM, Friday, April 6, 2018 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Rev. Guadalupe Gonzales officiating. Burial will follow in the Blair Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Hortensia Pena was born March 20, 1937 to Alfredo and Virginia (Puentes) Pena in Mathis, Texas. Hortensia and Elias Rosalez were united in marriage on September 9, 1961 in Altus, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on June 21, 2016. She was a member of the Iglesia Samaria Church. Hortensia was a homemaker her entire life and enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening, and cooking. Her greatest pleasure was being with her family.
Hortensia is preceded in death by her husband; parents; daughter, Lucy Rosalez; son, Marcello Lara, Jr.; brothers, Theodore, Antonio, Reymundo, Juan, Abelardo and Narcisco Pena; and sisters, Elida Lara, Maria Irene Pena and Jolanda Flores.
She leaves behind four daughters, Sara Winiarski and husband, Stan, Olga P. Cannon, Melinda Morris and husband, James, and Rebecca Pizani and husband, Charles; four sons, Ray Gutierrez and wife, Estella, Elias Rosalez Jr., and wife, Barbara, Mario Rosalez and wife, Elim, and Thomas Rosalez; twenty grandchildren; and thirty eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Robert Pena and wife, Mary; and three sisters, Sylvia P. Zuniga and husband, Antonio, Rosa Flores and husband, Pancho, and Francisca Lopez.
The Rosalez family will greet friends Thursday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Kincannon Gathering Room.
