Ignacio Garcia Martinez

Ignacio Garcia Martinez, 92, passed away at OU Medical Center on Thursday, November 14, 2024. The family will greet friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Monday, November 18th, at the funeral home. Services are scheduled for 2:00 PM on Tuesday, November 19th in the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Reverend Jerry Raab officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.

Ignacio was born on September 1, 1932, to Juan and Maggie (Garcia) Martinez in Taft, Texas where he was raised and attended school. Ignacio married Josefina Gonzalez on September 23, 1962, in Reynosa, Mexico. To this 62-year union, five children were born. As a farmer, Ignacio relocated his family to SW Oklahoma where he continued to farm in the area. He was an outdoorsman and greatly enjoyed hunting, fishing, working with animals, and keeping his yard mowed and maintained. He was an old western movie enthusiast, especially enjoying Bonanza and Gun Smoke. Time spent with his family was his biggest treasure.

Ignacio is preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Maggie Martinez; and three siblings, Baldemar Martinez, Johnny Ray Martinez, and Joyce Ann McClellan.

Left to cherish Ignacio's memory is his loving wife, Josefina Gonzalez Martinez; children, Juanita Burch, Bessie Martinez Ensign and husband, Joel, Steven Burch, Ignacio Martinez Jr. and wife, Veronica, and Angel Martinez and wife, Deanna; grandchildren, Eliza Burch Ruttle and husband, Raymond, Brittany Ensign, Nick Ensign, Janet Duke and husband, DJ, Veronica Soni and husband, Christian, Rosita Henson and husband, Dylan, Samantha Martinez, and Andrew Mayabb; great-grandchildren, Leland Duke, CJ Duke, Isaac Soni, Kathy Soni, Aubree Duke, and Ulisses Soni; sister, Juanita Smith; as well as many extended friends and family.
