Israel Lujan

November 25, 1939 — June 15, 2021

Jose “Israel” Lujan, 81, Altus, passed away on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital. No services are scheduled at this time. Local arrangements are under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.

Israel was born in Boquilla de abajo canitas Zacatecas on November 25, 1939 to Juana Lopez Hernandez and Silvester Lujan. He came to the United States in 1973 and worked for several years in Hollis at the oil mill and cotton gin. He also worked in the surrounding areas for many well known farmers. Israel moved to Altus in 1983 and lived there until his death. He enjoyed watching baseball games and playing pool.

Israel was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, his first wife, Basilisa Salazar Arredondo, and his second wife, Cleora Lujan.

Survivors include his children, Jose m Lujan Salazar, Arseli Lujan Salazar, Ignacio Lujan Salazar, Humberto Lujan Salazar, Rafael Lujan Salazar, Veronica Lujan Salazar and Ricardo Lujan; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, and his dear friends, Mr. and Mrs. Mauricio Diaz.
