James L. Edwards, 60, Blair, passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, April 8, 2019 at the Trinity Holiness Church, East of Blair, Oklahoma. Burial will follow services at the Blair Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
James LeRoy Edwards was born June 17, 1958 in Hobart, Oklahoma to Charles and Mary (Monroe) Edwards. He had attended schools in Lone Wolf, Oklahoma and Blair, Oklahoma. James and Tammy Buckner were united in marriage May 20, 1977 at the First Baptist Church in Blair, Oklahoma. He had been a truck driver and a heavy equipment operator most of his adult life. James was a member of the Trinity Holiness Church. He was one the founding members of the Oklahoma "Sand Toads" Dune Buggy Club. James' buggy was #3 when he and the "Sand Toads" rode at Little Sahara, Oklahoma. James collected Coke signs but drank Pepsi, stating "Coke signs are worth more." He also flew RC planes and collected VW bugs and busses.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mary Edwards; a daughter, Kendra Diane Edwards; a sister, Becky Coffman; and three brothers, Larry, David and Ronnie Edwards.
He is survived by Tammy Buckner; two daughters, Crystal Edwards and Martae Buckner; one son, Brandon Edwards and wife, Juliana; three grandchildren, Hannah Lea Edwards, Jaxon Lei Ybarra and Da'Von Buckner; a sister, Paula Harris and husband, Butch; a brother, Gary Edwards and wife, Cheryl; three sisters-in-law, Peggy Edwards, Paula Edwards and Sandi Buckner; brother-in-law, Jimmy Coffman; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Lonnie and Freda Buckner; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ken and Gladys Buckner; a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
