James Edward Jefferson

James Edward Jefferson, 59, Altus, passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at the English Village Manor. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Friday, April 7, 2023 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Broughton officiating. Services and cremation are under the care of the Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.

James was born on October 21, 1963 in Clinton, Oklahoma to Billy James and Mary Francis (Ray) Jefferson. He was lovingly known to many as "Kokie". He grew up in Altus and graduated from Altus High School with the class of 1983. James was a jack of all trades and could really do anything. He married Chryll Hill on January 15, 1989 in Altus. James loved fishing and football, especially his Oklahoma State Cowboys. He loved helping others and was a beloved kids football coach for many years. James was a member of the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church.

His father, Billy Jefferson; a brother, Rodney Jefferson; and a sister, Carrie Jefferson, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Chryll; four sons, Terrence Edwards, Matthew Busby, Bryan Jefferson and wife, Ashley, and Josiah Gilbert; three daughters, Angela Jefferson, Aaliyah Hendricks, and Sharieal Hendricks; seven grandchildren; his mother, Mary Francis Jefferson; eleven siblings, Hugh Jefferson, Keith Jefferson, Roderick Jefferson, Marcell Jefferson, Malcolm Jefferson, Joseph Jefferson, Yuvest Jefferson, Jason Jefferson, “Lil” Billy Jefferson, Jr., Jennifer Williams, and DeAngela Jefferson; one uncle; six aunties; and a host of nephews, nieces, and cousins.
