James Joseph “Jim” Hargrove, 70, of Blair, passed away on Monday, February 28, 2011 in Oklahoma City. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Friday, March 4, 2011 in the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Rev. Ken Lyles and Rev. Elson Hargrove officiating. Burial with military honors will be in the Restlawn Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home. Jim Hargrove was born on May 29, 1940 in Pryor, Oklahoma to Elson P. & Elizabeth C. (McDowell) Hargrove, Sr. He grew up around the Blair area and graduated from Warren High School. He married Jean Wilbanks. He served in the US Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. He worked in steel construction for almost 50 years and retired in January due to his health. In 1999, Jim moved back to Blair to help out his ailing mother. She passed away in 2004. Jim enjoyed fishing, working, helping people, and spending time with friends and family. Jim was also a member of the Short Stop Coffee Club in Blair. His parents and a daughter, Becki Jean Hargrove Spinks, preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, Jean Hargrove of Oklahoma City, OK; a daughter, Mandi Hargrove and her husband, Robert Hoyes, of Las Vegas, Nevada; a son, Keith Hargrove and fiancee, Kelsey Reneau, of Oklahoma City, OK; four grandchildren, Kiley and Cammy Hargrove, both of Oklahoma City, OK, and Michael Shane Spinks and Laci Aboud, both of El Paso, TX; three brothers, Elson Hargrove, Jr. and his wife, Joyce, of Tulsa, OK, Roy Hargrove and his wife, Elodia, of El Paso, TX, and Kenneth Hargrove of Blair, OK; and a sister, Kathryn Goolsby of San Antonio, TX. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
