James David Lake

May 4, 1960 — March 25, 2025

Blair

James David ‘Dave’ Lake, 64, passed from this life, into the arms of Jesus the afternoon of Tuesday, March 25, 2025, in Blair, Oklahoma. He was born on May 4, 1960, in Clinton to Lonnie Weadon and Jimmie Helen (Smith) Lake. One of nine siblings, Dave never lacked a friend, playmate, or wrestling opponent. The family relocated to San Bernadino, California where Dave spent his formative years and attended Sierra High School.

Faith, family, and friends were the true essence of Dave. He adored his children and grandchildren and spent time with his siblings and extended family. Dave and Jennifer Renee Walker married on September 21, 2024, in Blair.

If one word could encapsulate Dave's passion, it would be music. A gifted artist, he excelled in drawing and painting, but his true talent lay in crafting custom guitars. His love for music extended beyond craftsmanship—he had a remarkable singing voice and could impersonate Willie Nelson with uncanny accuracy.

Dave was a faithful man, devoted to his relationships with others and, above all, with the Lord. His unwavering faith was evident in his love for his church family at Blair First Baptist.

Loved ones that preceded Dave in death are his parents, Lonnie and Jimmie; son, Todd Beggs; grandson, Kameron Umana; sister, Rena Brannon; sister-in-law, Delena Lake; brothers-in-law, Larry Allen, Pete Forster, and Tommy Tutten; and mother-in-law, Nita Jo Everett.

The legacy of Dave will live on in his wife, Jennifer Walker Lake; children, Viola Bowden and husband, Steve, Lorena Lake, Jewel Lynn Lake, Jake Lake, and their mother, Trudy Lake, Sarah Allen, Jamie Lyne Blevins, and Eddie Michael Blevins; grandchildren, JayLyn, Aundrey and wife, Rani, Madison, Avery, Jayce, Quentin, Briley, Iris, Jazmine, Jordan, Payton, and Kailani; great-granddaughters, Heliana and Freya; sisters, Lynn Forster, Treeva Slacke and husband, Jim, Gail Allen, and Nita Farrington; brothers, Loyd Lake, John Lake, and Weldon Lake; brother-in-law, Mike Brannon; an abundance of nieces, nephews, and extended family; and many good and dear friends.

A Memorial Service is scheduled for 2:00 PM on Friday, March 28th, at First Baptist Church in Blair with Pastor Tyler McDowell and Patrick Gibson officiating.
