James Lynn Murphy, 59, Altus, passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 in Lawton, Oklahoma. Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Friday, August 1, 2014 in the Kincannon Memorial Chapel. Cremation and services have been entrusted to Kincannon Funeral Home. James Lynn Murphy was born on October 19, 1954 to Cecil and Sylvia (Canada) Murphy in Altus, Oklahoma. He was raised in Elmer, OK and graduated from the Southside School. James and Julie Drown were united in marriage on June 16, 1981 in Altus, OK. He was a rancher and raised cattle for most of his life. James loved spending time with his family. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and his dogs. James is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Sarah Jo Swint and Anita Pair. He leaves behind his wife, Julie, of the home; two daughters, Jamie Murphy and husband, Eddie Appleton, of Oklahoma City, OK and Delana Skala and husband, Chris, of Oklahoma City, OK; a son, BJ Murphy and wife, Gabby, of Oklahoma City, OK; four grandchildren, Mercadez Hernandez, Alezae Brown, Jaylyn Skala and CJ Skala; two sisters, Sandra Callins of Altus, OK and Edith Duke and husband, Kenneth, of Tipton, OK; and several other nieces, nephews and friends. Additional parking for the service is available behind the funeral home, Best Western to the South or Western Sizzlin’ to the North.
