James E. "Jim" McClintock, 91, Altus, formerly of Amarillo, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at the English Village Manor in Altus. The family will host a visitation / reception Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Kincannon Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 10, 2020 at the Llano Cemetery in Amarillo, Texas under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
James Edwin McClintock was born on May 30, 1928 in Amarillo, Texas to James Garner and Cora (Beaty) McClintock. He graduated from Amarillo High School with the Class of 1946 and continued his education at Amarillo Junior College. James and Nancy Fields were married on August 12, 1950 in Amarillo, Texas. He worked for the City of Amarillo as a maintenance supervisor at the Amarillo Air Terminal and retired in 1989. Jim was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Altus; a member of the AARP; enjoyed woodworking; sailing; collecting old VCR movies; spending summers at the Pendaries RV Park in San Miguel County, New Mexico and he loved dogs. The McClintock's moved to Altus in 1994 and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, in 2000, with an Alaskan Cruise.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Cora McClintock. He is survived by his wife, Nancy; two sons, Dr. Carey McClintock and wife, Debbie; Rev. Dan McClintock and wife, Janice; daughter, Betty Kay Howell and husband, Tracy; six grandchildren, Josh McClintock and wife, Sara; Brent McClintock and wife, Crystal; Kelly Howell; Mandy Booker and husband, Michael; Lindsey McClintock and husband, Sebastian; and Jessica Rivera and husband, Gio; twelve great grandchildren, Kaylie, Jillian, McKayla, Stephen, Lucas, Charlotte, Carson, Bennett, Liela, Zaiden, Aaliyah, and Adilynn.
