James Barry Shive, 77, Martha, passed away Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Plantation Village Nursing Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at Kincannon Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Altom officiating. Burial will follow services at the Restlawn Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home.
James Barry Shive was born May 10, 1939 in Martha, Oklahoma to James Paul and Alpha Nadene (Cotney) Shive. He graduated from Martha High School where he was an outstanding basketball player. Barry continued his education in Pueblo, Colorado while attending business college. He returned to Southwest Oklahoma to help his father in their farming operation. Barry married Betty Onan June 29, 1961 in Altus, Oklahoma. He was the owner and operator of Southwest Service and retired in 2001.
Mr. Shive was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his daughter, Stacy Cox and husband, Philip; two grandchildren, Bradley Cox and Molly Giberti and husband, Mike; two great grandchildren, Cole and Mason Giberti; two sisters, Paula Rice-Charles; Debbie Murrow and husband, Lenny; nieces and nephews and many friends.
The Shive family will greet friends Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Kincannon Funeral Home.
