James W. Lockwood

James W. Lockwood, 83, Altus, passed away Sunday, September 9, 2012 at English Village Nursing Home. Graveside services are scheduled for 10 am, Thursday, September 13, 2012 at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home. James William Lockwood was born on January 8, 1929 to Frank W. and Goldie (Crabb) Lockwood in Reed, Oklahoma. He graduated from Altus High School in 1949. James and Lila June Duncan were united in marriage at Raton, New Mexico on August 31, 1954. To this union two children were born. James served his country in the United States Army from 1952 to 1956 and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant. He was the owner of Lockwood Auto Parts from 1963 until his retirement in 2008. He was of the Christian faith. James enjoyed fishing, the NRA, and spending time with family. James is preceded in death by his parents; wife; two brothers, Dalton and Milton; and two sisters, Maudie and Lola May. He is survived by one daughter, Karen Kneisel and husband, John, of Altus, OK; a son, James Lockwood and wife, Tommie, of Altus, OK; one sister, Hazel Crone, of Odessa, TX; three grandchildren, Lisa Shelton and husband, Jon, of Altus, OK; Stacy Smith and husband, Dustin, of St. Joseph, MO; and Cody Lockwood; and two great grandchildren, Brooke Shelton and Lily Shelton. The Lockwood family will receive guests from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm Wednesday, September 13, 2012 at the Kincannon Gathering Room.
