Jennifer Garrett Smith

Jennifer Garrett-Smith, 56, Altus, passed away on Friday, January 19, 2018 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Graveside service will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 23, 2018 in the Altus City Cemetery with Rev. Boyd Whitehead officiating. Burial will be under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home.

Jennifer Garrett was born on June 5, 1961 in Hereford, Texas to Dean and Karan (Smith) Garrett. She moved with her family to Altus, Oklahoma in 1967 and attended Altus Public Schools and Western Oklahoma State College. She married Shane Smith in Vernon, Texas on May 3, 2001. Jennifer was an avid OU fan and loved animals, especially her three dogs and cat.

Jennifer was preceded in death by her grandparents, Orville and Jewel Smith and W.H. and Mary Ida Garrett.

Survivors include her husband, Shane, of the home; a son, Aaron Smith and wife, Felicia; parents, Dean and Karan Garrett; a brother, Dr. G. Russell "Rusty" Garrett and wife, Sabina; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Darryl and Nyeeta Smith; an aunt, Margaret Smith; an uncle, Eldon Owens; sister-in-law, Shawn Morgan-Lemons and husband, Joe; brother-in-law, Steven Smith; two nephews and five nieces.
