Jerry Earl Steed

Jerry Earl Steed, 78, Altus, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2013 in Las Vegas, Nevada. A memorial service will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at the Restlawn Cemetery. Inurnment will be under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home. Jerry was born in 1934 in Woodward, Oklahoma to W.G. and Nathalie Steed. In 1937, his family moved to Pueblo, Colorado, where Jerry graduated from Centennial High School. After serving six years in the US Air Force, he moved to California. He retired 29 years later and moved his family to Altus, Oklahoma. With family also in Las Vegas, Jerry decided on dual residency and spent time between both homes. His beloved wife of 48 years, Bonnie, his parents, W.G. and Nathalie Steed, a stepdaughter, Leonda Jobe, and a granddaughter, Becky Ann Baerg, preceded him in death. Survivors include his brother, Bill Steed and wife, Hazel; a sister, Pam Smalley and husband, Chuck; two stepchildren, Vonda Leedy and husband, Ronnie, and Leon Qualls and wife, Connie; a son-in-law, John Baerg and wife, Becky; seven grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Jerry was a very caring and loving person and will be greatly missed. He will live in our hearts forever.
