Jerry Lee Guthrie, 63, Altus, passed away on Thursday, May 6, 2010 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Services with military honors will be at 6:00 PM Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Joe Campos officiating. Burial will be held at a later date in Coshocton, Ohio. Jerry was born on July 1, 1946 in Coshocton, Ohio to Owen Eugene and Doris Jean (Dawson) Guthrie. He graduated from high school in Newark, Ohio. He served in the US Army for two years and was a Vietnam Veteran. He then worked for civil service in Newark, Ohio and at Altus Air Force Base for 32 years. He was currently the Airlift Vehicle Control Officer. He married Barbara Moore on August 27, 1996 in Newark, Ohio. Jerry was a blessing to his wife, Barbara, and loved her very much. His parents, Owen Eugene Guthrie and Doris Jean (Guthrie) Walters, as well as his stepfather Donald Marvin Walter preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife of the home; a son, Jason Allen Guthrie of Duckhill, Mississippi; two brothers, Greg Guthrie and family, and David Guthrie and family, all of Louisiana; two sisters, Patricia Mitchem and family of Indiana, and Judy Cheney and family of Ohio; three grandchildren, Jade, Devin and Zack; four uncles, Harold, John and Raymond Guthrie and families, and Buddy Dawson and family; and an aunt, Ruthie Larr and family. Jerry is also survived by his military family and friends at Altus Air Force Base.
