Jimmy Balentine, 71, Altus, passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at his home. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at the Kincannon Funeral Home with Corky Grigsby officiating. The Balentine family will greet friends Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Kincannon Funeral Home. Funeral and cremation services are provided by Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
James A. Balentine was born May 4, 1945 in Arkansas to Wayne and Etta Rose (Byers) Balentine. He married Joyce West and to this union two children were born, Laura and Dean. Jim was the owner of "62 Auto Salvage" and has been here for the people of southwest Oklahoma and north Texas for over 30 years. Jim loved NHRA racing and was even in "pinks all out" with his S-10 race truck. He married Kathy Miller of San Antonio, Texas. Jim was of the Christian faith and had gone on missionary trips to Guadalajara in his youth. He loved western movies and going camping with his granddaughter, Lillie, and family.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Joyce; a brother, Mac
Balentine; and a sister, Mona Balentine.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy, of the home; two children, Laura and Dean Balentine; a granddaughter, Audrey Cogburn; five stepchildren; five step grandchildren; and several close friends including, Clem Farley, Greg Downs, Craig Umberger, his favorite brother-in-law, LeeRoy Gonzales, and the community of Southwest Oklahoma whom he considered friends.
