Jimmy Lee Bennett, 67, Altus, died Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital with his family at his bedside. A family memorial will take place at a later date. Jimmy was born July 17, 1944 in Altus, Oklahoma to Robert Lee and Goldie Mae (Robertson) Bennett. He attended Altus Public Schools and graduated from Altus High School. Jimmy worked in the retail grocery business all his adult life. He worked at United Supermarkets during high school and worked there following high school as well. He then worked at Safeway Grocers before working route sales for Wonder Bread Company and Meads Bread Company. He worked for Wal-Mart in the produce department and became the produce manager before retiring due to health issues. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee and Goldie Mae (Robertson) Bennett. He is survived by four children, a daughter, Tracy Bennett, and three sons, Bradley, Braden and Jason Bennett, all of Texas; three sisters, Norma Jean Stewart and husband Dan of Altus, OK; Sandra Bennett of Altus, OK; Jeanette Fischar of Kalamazoo,MI; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
