Jimmy Lee McElroy, 60, passed away Saturday, September 12, 2015 at his home in Warren, Oklahoma. Funeral services have been scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, September 17, 2015 at the Warren Baptist Church with Brother Ed Heflin officiating. Burial will follow in the Warren Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home.
Jimmy was born August 2, 1955 to Clifford Jim and Carolyn Ann (Goolsby) McElroy in Altus, OK. He was saved and baptized at Ysleta Baptist Church in El Paso, TX. He graduated from Navajo High School with the class of 1973 and earned his Bachelor of Science in Education degree at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, OK in 1978. Jimmy married Ranae Ford September 26, 1981 in Warren, Oklahoma. After teaching in Eldorado and Roosevelt, he retired with 25 years in the Altus Public School System. Jimmy was a member of the Warren Baptist Church and enjoyed collecting rocks and mountain climbing.
Jimmy is survived by his parents; son, Clifford Jim McElroy, II and his wife, Caiti; two grandchildren, Penelope "Poppy" McElroy and Clifford Jim "CJIII" McElroy, III; a sister, Sandy Fanning and husband, Mark; and two nephews, Russell Fanning and wife, Laurie, and Carter Fanning; several other family members and a host of friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Warren Cemetery.
