Joel Lee Shelton, 31, passed away at his home in Altus, Oklahoma on Saturday, July 24, 2021. A memorial service will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, July 30, 2021 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Revered Jason Pickering officiating. Services are under the care of Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
Joel was born February 6, 1990 in Lawton, Oklahoma to Perry and Brenda (Roberts) Shelton. He graduated from Altus High School and later attended Western Oklahoma State College. Joel married Gabriel Guy on May 25, 2015 in Vernon, Texas. He worked in the fast-food industry at various places around Altus including Sonic, Taco Bell and Bar-S. He also worked in the new housing construction at various jobs including painting, roofing and finish work. Joel was always first to volunteer to help family and friends in need. Joel was an avid gamer and enjoyed watching Japanese anime.
Joel is survived by his wife, Gabby Shelton; daughter Laelette Shelton of Altus, OK; parents, Perry and Brenda Shelton of Altus, OK; siblings, Patricia O’Hair and husband, Bruce of Van Alystn, TX, Lynn Camp and husband, Mark of Altus, OK, and Samuel Perry Shelton of Altus, OK; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will host a reception and viewing from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Thursday, July 29th.
