John E. Richeson, 90, Harrah, passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2023 in Oklahoma City. Graveside services will be held at 1 pm Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at the Eldorado Cemetery with the Reverend Pete Wylie officiating. Services are under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
John Everett Richeson was born February 28, 1932 in Harmon County, Oklahoma to Chester and Ruby (Dickson) Richeson. He graduated from Eldorado High School with the Class of 1950 and served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War for two years. Upon returning home from the service John married Helen Jean Sparkman on November 7, 1954 in Quanah, Texas. He continued his education at Oklahoma State University, graduating in 1960 with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture. He began working at Tinker Air Force Base in 1962 and retired in 1990 as an Inventory Program Manager. John was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Harrah as well as the McLoud Masonic Lodge #126 and the Guthrie Scottish Rite. He enjoyed traveling in their RV, quail hunting, pheasant hunting in the Oklahoma Panhandle, woodworking, welding, growing pecans, mowing and listening to Bluegrass music.
John is preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Ruby Richeson; his wife of 66 years, Helen Richeson; one son, Johnnie Richeson; one brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Nita Richeson; sister and brother-in-law, Louise and Billy Hall; and sister Jolene Crowder.
He is survived by one son, Jimmie Richeson and wife, Joni; granddaughter, Jennie McDonald and husband, Max; great granddaughter, Kaylee McDonald;
and a very special friend and caregiver, Betty Minson.
