Jonathan Reed Goforth

Jonathan Reed Goforth, 26, Altus, passed away Sunday, May 9, 2010 at the OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, May 13, 2010 at the Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church on Tamarack Road in Altus, OK. with Rev. Justin Wilson and Rev. John Johnson officiating. Burial will follow services at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home. Jonathon was born April 9, 1984 in Altus, Oklahoma to Glen and Rhonda (Collins) Goforth. He attended Altus Public Schools and graduated from Altus High School in 2002. He graduated from Western Oklahoma State College in 2004 with Associates of Arts Degree and continued his education at Northwestern Oklahoma State University, graduating with a Bachelors of Business Administration in Accounting. He married Amanda Diane Powers March 24, 2007 in Altus, Oklahoma. Jonathon was a musician who loved to teach guitar at his business Everything Music and Sound in Altus. He was also involved with the youth ministry at Glad Tidings Assembly of God. He loved music, fishing, spending time with his dog “Duke”, a black lab mix, church activities and spending time with his friends and family. Jonathon is preceded in death by his grandfather Ronald Collins, step-grandfather Curley Burrows and grandparents E.J. and Anna Goforth. Jonathon is survived by his wife Amanda, parents Glen and Rhonda Goforth, brother Jared Goforth and his fiancée Kim Marker, both of Altus, sister Katrina (Leeann) Goforth of Altus.
