Joretta Rankhorn

Joretta Rankhorn, 74, Altus, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2015 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services have been scheduled for 10:00 AM, Friday, March 27, 2015 at the Elm and Hudson Church of Christ with Daniel Ingram officiating. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home. Joretta Fisher was born October 27, 1940 to Byron F. and Bernice (Roberts) Fisher in Altus, Oklahoma. She attended and graduated from Altus High School in 1958. Joretta and Arthur Rankhorn were united in marriage on December 12, 1959 in Altus, Oklahoma. And to this union two children were born. Joretta was a member of the Elm and Hudson Church of Christ. She was the President of the Handicapped Support Group. Joretta enjoyed volunteering, being involved in the Card Ministry and working for the church. Joretta was a homemaker most of her life with the exception of working as a homecare provider for several years. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother, and will be dearly missed. She is preceded in death by her parents and grandparents. Joretta leaves behind her husband Arthur "Red" Rankhorn of the home; daughter, Janet Rankhorn of Altus, OK; son, James Rankhorn and wife Melanie of Chillicothe, OH; one grandson, Kadry Rankhorn of Chillicothe, OH. Joretta also leaves behind a host of friends.
