Joyce Elaine (Pulley) Montgomery, 60, of Altus was called home to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, December 22, 2012. She was born May 31, 1952 in Hobart, Oklahoma to Lewis and Charlene (Johnston) Pulley. She graduated from Hobart High School and attended Central State University in Edmond, Oklahoma. Joyce married Gary Kent Montgomery July 31, 1971 in Hobart, Oklahoma. She worked for the Altus Cotton Oil Mill as a secretary before being employed as the Elementary Secretary at Navajo School. She loved being around the elementary children. She and Gary retired from Navajo School in 2011 and enjoyed the slower pace, volunteering at the Tamarack Road Church of Christ Food Room and spending more time with their grandchildren. She also enjoyed reading, cooking and church activities. Joyce was preceded in death by her father, John Lewis Pulley and her brother, Jeffrey Pulley. She is survived by her husband, Gary, of the home east of Friendship, OK; two daughters, Melissa Smith and husband Mark of Warren, OK; Tanya Morales and her good friend, Josh Cramer, and his children, Haley and Zach, all of Altus, OK; four grandchildren, Max, Mitch and Macee Smith and Malachi Morales; her mother, Charlene Pulley of Hobart, OK; a brother, John Pulley of Medicine Lodge, Kansas and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, December 27, 2012 at the Tamarack Road Church of Christ with Clint Burns officiating. Burial will follow services at the Navajoe Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home. The Montgomery Family will greet friends Wednesday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. at Kincannon Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Tamarack Road Church of Christ Food Room.
